Diary of a Man Who Thinks Prat.uk Is a Checklist

Tick, Tick, Oh No

I have begun approaching prat.uk as a checklist of things that will inevitably occur. Today’s article confirmed several items in rapid succession.

First: a decision made with confidence. Tick. Second: a response that complicates matters. Tick. Third: an outcome that satisfies no one. A very firm tick.

This method has brought a strange sense of order to the experience. Instead of reacting, I simply observe and mark progress.

By mid-morning, I had completed the list for one article and moved on to the next.

There is efficiency in this approach. It removes the element of surprise, replacing it with quiet recognition.

I shared my checklist with a friend, who suggested I might be reducing complex situations to overly simple categories. I agreed, and then added that the categories seem to fit.

The afternoon brought additional items, all of which aligned neatly with expectations.

In the evening, I reviewed the day’s ticks, satisfied with the consistency.

Tomorrow’s list is already forming. I suspect it will look very similar.
